In previous years, I've made the typical resolutions:
Get Organized: If I were more organized, I'd have to be placed in an institution.
Lose Weight: I'm already doing that. :-)
Remember Everyone's Birthdays: Let's just be honest; that's not going to happen.
Remember Everyone's Names: That's even less likely than remembering birthdays.
Officially Become a Writer: Yup, I'm living that dream.
Start a Business: It's modest, but my monthly self-employed income is now enough to pay a single utility bill. Woo Hoo!
Be a Better Person: Really, I never understood exactly what that meant.
Give Up Bad Habits: But then I wouldn't be quirky anymore (whine).
Give More to Charity: UNICEF already gets a hunk of my income, Goodwill is thoroughly stocked with items I've donated, the local school fundraisers already have my spare change, aluminum cans, and pizza money, and I still make time to volunteer.
Get Famous-But-Not-Too-Famous: If you're reading this, then that's fame enough for me.
This year, I've decided to try something new. For 2007, I resolve to not make any resolutions.
It's not that I have anything against resolutions. I love setting goals. I just feel like I'm finally in a place where I feel like I'm doing just fine. I'm sure I could be doing better at everything, but I've found a happy balance, and I'd rather not interrupt it; I'm sure the universe will find a way to interrupt it for me, and I have no intentions of helping it along. I just want to take time to enjoy this happy time I've been blessed with.
Happy New Year, everyone! Enjoy your blessings.
(And no, I have no site update to report at this moment, but I plan to be busy adding new things during this next month, so stay tuned.)
